Cat in the Hat   Main Idea The main idea of this story was to teach the main characters of how they would act in a cat form. The cat was the, in a sense, the hero of the story. I say this because he taught the siblings a valuable lesson even though they were both so different from each other. The brother's actions were portrayed by the cat being reckless and care-free teaching him that with being reckless comes a lot of responsibility. This was in a sense a mirror to how his mother would have to take responsibility for all of the boy's actions. On the other hand, you have the uptight sister who learned to let loose and enjoy her youth. What was your personal reaction to this reading selection?  I thought this story is taken very lightly by the general population. I say this because most children when they read this just think of a comedic story about the adventures of two siblings and a large cat. This story has much more meaning to it than what meets the eye.

Romeo & Juliet  Main Idea: The main idea present in this reading selection was the comparison between love and hatred. I say this because Shakespeare interprets love and hatred through his characters and their actions. For example, the main characters Romeo and Juliet are madly in love from the moment they lock eyes and throughout the story, they go through obstacles to continue their love. On the other hand, you have their families that have a hatred towards one another that leads the families to take actions of hatred that cause pain to others.  What was your personal reaction to this reading selection? I am a huge fan of Romeo and Juliet though I am skeptical about certain areas. For example, the hopeless romantic side of me loves the idea of their love that is unbreakable to the point where they would do anything to be with one another. On the other hand, I do understand that in a sense the plan they made to be together was reckless and had multiple flaws to it

Fahrenheit 451 Main Idea: The main idea of this book was censorship. The author wanted to show the importance of reading and thinking. He did so by creating an alternate world where reading and thinking outside of what is considered a "normality" is banned.  What was your personal reaction to this reading selection?  My personal reaction was mainly comparing the story to everything that happens in society today. I would compare how literature would physically be burned by groups of people to how if we did that today media would blow up with a million different responses. Also, in today's society if anything happens in social media would be blown up with different feedback from everyone but compared tot he story if something were to happen no one would have a say about it. If you were to create notes to help you remember the most important points from your reading, what style of notes (lists, outlines, thought bubbles or webs, etc.) wou

ANIMAL FARM  The main idea, from my perspective, of this story was to show how power can change someone even animals who fought for their right to not be ruled and mistreated. It's very ironic because the pigs were the smartest bunch out of all the animals when in reality they are seen as the messiest. Throughout the story they manipulate the rules to their advantage instead of thinking of the greater good for the animal farm.  What was your personal reaction to this reading selection?  I enjoyed this story very much because of it's relevance to inequality. I say this because I'm an advocate for equality so this book helped inspire and continue my pursuit of equality for everyone. If you were to create notes to help you remember the most important points from your reading, what style of notes (lists, outlines, thought bubbles or webs, etc.) would you use and why?  I think thought bubbles would be my preferred style of note taking for this book becaus

What Kind of Reader Am I? The Results... After taking the " What Kind of Reader Are You?" quiz it turns out that I am a geek for fiction!  Then, runner up was the genre of drama.  Even though, I do enjoy a good crime story that's based on a true story it also scares me. This explains why non-fiction isn't the best genre for me. I agree with " What Kind of Reader Are You?" quiz because I do love indulging in a book where I am able to travel to a different world. Personally, I believed comedy would be a runner up to fiction but drama is understandable. I say it's understandable because I love reading a book with unexpected twists and turns. Not only, does this go for books but it also goes for movies too.  The last thing I read is Animal Farm by George Orwell. In my AP English Literature class my teacher assigned us to read a book that had literary merit. To my surprise when I went on Google and typed in "books with literary mer
